ASE 2025 Context Collection Workshop

The workshop is dedicated to the Context Collection Competition organized by JetBrains and Mistral AI. The competition challenges participants to develop strategies for gathering code context to maximize the performance of code completion models.

The workshop will showcase competition results and strategies of the winning teams, and serve as a venue to discuss methods for effective context collection in AI-assisted development, as well as related challenges.

Workshop Program

Call for Papers

We consider all submissions outperforming the recent baselines from EvalAI leaderboards qualified for workshop papers. We invite all authors of qualified submissions to submit a short paper to the workshop and attend it in person.

Format

We invite 4-page short papers describing the authors’ approach to the problem, the technicalities of their solution, the process of developing the solution towards the final version, and the link to source code. All submissions should not exceed 4 pages (including references) and conform to the ASE 2025 formatting guidelines.

Submission

Submissions are open at https://context-collection-2025.hotcrp.com/ until 23:59 on August 26, AoE.

Contents of the papers

The papers should convey the essence of the authors’ approach to the competition problem, including technical details of the solution, the evolution of the solution towards the final version, and any relevant details on team composition, communication processes, and responsibilities. In addition, we encourage the authors to reflect on the broader problem of context composition in practical contexts, and share their considerations about the potential improvement and optimization of their solution.

Review process

We aim to accept all papers describing qualified solutions to the challenge. However, we set up a two-stage review process aimed at increasing the quality of the submissions and setting ground for discussions at the workshop. In the first stage, the workshop chairs will check submissions for relevance and conformance to the formatting guidelines, and provide feedback to the authors. In the second stage, we will invite authors of all submissions to read and discuss other submissions, giving the authors the opportunity to give and receive feedback and familiarize themselves with solutions of others.

Restrictions

After acceptance, the list of paper authors cannot be changed under any circumstances. That is, the list of authors on camera-ready papers must be identical to those on submitted papers. If a submission is accepted, at least one author of the paper is required to register for the workshop and present the paper in person.
